Preparing for Marriage

Some helpful information


Meet the priest in your parish to set date and discuss prerequisites.
You must give six months’ notice of your wedding date.
If you have a priest outside of the parish as celebrant please inform the parish office.
Book pre-marriage course six months in advance of your wedding date.
Discuss ceremony details with Celebrant.


A certificate of baptism dated within six month of marriage date.
A certificate of confirmation dated six months of marriage date.
Pre-nuptial enquiry form.
Statement of freedom form to be completed by parent or sibling and signed in the presence of priest from the parish.
Dispensation – if prospective spouse is not a Roman Catholic or the marriage is in a non-Catholic church.
